Installing WordPress isn’t a daunting task when you know the basic way to setup a host server. Just install a local server software on your windows machine and you are good to go. There are a handful of ways to install WordPress locally but how to install WordPress locally using Wampserver?
Let’s head to the installation.
Installing WordPress Locally on Windows
Installing WordPress requires you to work on installing web development software on your device. You can use Xampp or Wampserver to run WordPress locally.

Let’s get to the WordPress Installation now.
1. We will use Wampserver to install WordPress. First, Install Wampserver on your device. Remember to install Visual C++ packages with the latest versions.
2. Run Wampserver and go to phpMyAdmin. Log in to the admin panel, use root as your username, and leave the password field blank. Click Login.
3. Now, you need to create a Database and install WordPress. Go to the Dashboard, Name the Database, and select Collation from the pull-down menu.
Click on Create. Go back to Database.
4. Now, install WordPress on your device. Go to WordPress.org and download the zip file. Extract it and put the WordPress folder into the Wamp64→www folder. Generally, C:/wamp64/www directory.
Rename the WordPress folder to any of your preferred names, such as testingsite. We will use this name to run the WordPress site. Now, type localhost/testingsite in the address bar of your preferred browser.
Choose your language and click Let’s go. This will allow you to create your Database name and password field.
5. Here, In the blank field, type the Database name you gave in the previous step in phpMyAdmin; in this case, we gave it datanew1.
Type the username as root, leave the Password field blank, and leave the rest of the fields. Click on Submit.
Click on Run the installation on the next screen. Type the Site Title, create Password, provide an Email address, and Install WordPress.
Now login using the Username and Password you created. This will bring you to the WordPress Dashboard.
Your website is now locally hosted using Wampserver.
